TILE INSTALLATION REQUEST FORM
It shall be the policy of the Sands of Marco Condominium Association to require all owners
wishing to install ceramic tile in their homes or lanai to obtain permission by submitting
a request form to the Board for approval prior to start of installation.
This request is required by our governing documents, specifically Article 11.3(C) of the
Declaration for living areas and Article 11.3(A) of the Declaration for lanais. No tile is
permitted in the living areas, i.e. Bedroom, Dining, Living Room above the first floor. Tile
may be installed in the Kitchen, Entry, Bathrooms and Lanai subject to written approval of
the Board of Directors.
Tile installed in Kitchen, Entry and Bathrooms shall require an underlayment of 1/4 inch
cork or equivalent material to provide sound dampening levels to meet minimum standards of
HUD-STC-11C ratings for Multi-Family Buildings. This shall be the responsibility of the
installing contractor or individual installer. Waterproofing modifiers are required
for thin set and grout on Lanai installation.
